There is so many awesome things on in and around Melbourne these September school holidays so here are just a few ideas to get you started and to get the kids excited for next week (oh in the meantime we totally endorse bribes to keep them good before the hols start!). Happy holidays!
ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW
Melbourne Showgrounds, Flemington
WHEN – Saturday, September 22 to October 2
TIME – 9:30am – 9pm daily, pavilions open at 10am.

DETAILS: For 162 years the show has provided a massive range of all-inclusive, interactive and fun activities and attractions for the whole family. It’s a huge event, the kids love getting up close with hundreds of farm animals in the Animal Nursery, the Animal Farmyard and during the Animal Shows. Stacks of food tasting from Melbourne’s best eateries, showbag mayhem, performers, rides, demonstrations, stunts, stalls, carnival games, it’s got everything.

DETAILS – Jurassic Creatures is an interactive walk through event which explores an ancient world full of animatronic dinosaurs. DETAILS – The world famous Luna Park carousel is back in action after a year!! Visit Luna Park and take a ride on the 105 year old fully repaired carousel. GRAND FINAL PARADE
Parade goes from Old Treasury Building to the Toyota AFL Grand Final Live Site at Yarra Park at the MCG, Melbourne.
WHEN – Friday, September 28
TIME – Entertainment begins in Melbourne 9am, Parade 12pm – 1pm
COST – FREE
DETAILS – The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade, proudly supported by City of Melbourne, provides a chance for supporters of all ages to see the players taking part in the 2018 Toyota AFL Grand Final. Marching bands and roving entertainers will join the cavalcade of Toyota HiLuxes parading the Grand Final teams.

PENINSULA AQUATIC AND RECREATION CENTRE (PARC)

WHEN – Weekdays (including AFL public holiday), Monday 24 September – Friday 5 October:
TIME – Waterslides open from 10am, Splashtown open 11am, Aqua Zorb Balls open 11am, Aquatic playground open 9am.
COST – A PARC day pass for the whole family starts at $25.90, a child’s pass is $7.20 and an adult’s is $9.00, concession is also available for $7.20.
DETAILS – The kids will be entertained for hours on end with PARC’s range of fun aquatic activities such as Splash Town – a giant inflatable obstacle course (ages 6+), Aqua Zorb balls (ages 6+), waterslides plus an aquatic playground for the younger kids.
