Halloween, the “holiday” that seems to get bigger and bigger in Australia every year. There’s costumes for sale in all the big retail shops, “candy’ specials in all the supermarkets and constant pressure from the kids to take them Trick or Treating because “So and So’s mum from school said they’re allowed to go so why can’t I goooo?”
Well, to be honest, we’re not that keen on the thought of a “knock on a strangers door for lollies” expedition but we do love the idea of the kids dressing up and having fun with their friends in a special “festive” sense. So with that in mind, we are spooker excited for some Halloween events on the Peninsula this weekend, starting with…

And, if you do decide to take the kids Trick or Treating around your neighborhood then we love this idea from our friends over at Mornington Peninsula Kids – a printable pumpkin that you can distribute to your neighbors prior to Monday night, if they are participating in Halloween they simply stick the pumpkin to their front door so you know it’s all good to knock!
We think this is a very cool idea which will hopefully eliminate the awkward situation I remember being in one year as a kid where the little old lady’s door we knocked on didn’t know what Halloween was (bless her) so she gave us all 20 cents! – haha!

P.S If you come to my house and you haven’t made an effort to dress up – you’re getting the Turkish Delight – you’ve been warned!
