SNOOPY AND CHARLIE BROWN: THE PEANUTS MOVIE
Reviewed by: Lisa
Time: 93 mins
Gorgeous animation with all the old characters back in action. Great for the Snoopy fans of young and old. It is a bit cutesy and probably only best suited for kids under 5. My 4.5 year-old daughter laughed out loud a few times. Those older, especially boys, might get a bit bored with the lack of action and the lovey-dovey references (although there is a bit of funny old fashioned slap stick comedy thanks to Charlie Brown’s clumsiness). Snoopy’s character is classic snoopy (as expected) so he brings a few laughs too. Definitely a hit for the two, three and four-year-olds.
THE GOOD DINOSAUR

I took my 3.5 year old to see the Good Dinosaur and was surprised how sad/traumatic it was. From the name of the movie, I expected it to be a happy and upbeat movie. We both enjoyed it, albeit we both came away a little teary (I was surprised my son understood what happened). The effects are really good, and the context of the story is well done. The smallest of the herd, who starts weak and believes in himself to be stronger so the moral of the story is a really good one. Although my son really liked it, I would probably suggest it’s best for kids aged above 5 if you want them to understand the story line, but if not, 3 is fine.
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Genre: Sci-Fi Action Violence.
Those of you thinking of taking your pre-schooler or primary school kid to see this, probably best you check it out first! It’s not recommended for under 12’s and it’s easy to see why. There’s a fair bit of violence, lots of battle scenes, violent deaths, mass murders and other upsetting and scary scenes that could unsettle a young kid. But if you check it out first and you know your kid would love that sort of stuff then go for it! Awesome if he/she does turn out to love it then its one to remember and a great movie for father and son to enjoy together, classic Star Wars for modern times!
ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP

Time: 92 mins
A little rude, a little crude, funny, energetic, exciting and loud (wow the Chipmunks movie could actually be describing my four year old son!). We loved the Chipmunks movie! Heaps of laughs and an awesome soundtrack! Alvin, Simon & Theodore are the most adorable cheeky threesome on a road trip with their new “step brother to be”. It’s best suited for primary school aged kids but I think an older 4 year old would love it! (and adults; I loved it).
