HE’S MAKING A LIST, HE’S CHECKING IT TWICE…

It’s no secret that we absolutely adore Christmas in our households. We have decorations hung in every corner of the house, we have our Santa photos taken in the last week of November, all the presents have been bought, wrapped and hidden, Bing Crosby is serenading us from our CD players and the tinsel Christmas tree earrings are proudly popped on every morning (even for the school run!). Christmas is magical, it’s exciting, it brings with it happy childhood memories of presents, cinnamon smelling kitchens, family time and carols by candlelight.

Family Christmas traditions are such beautiful memories for kids to keep with them as they grow older. Memories such as decorating the tree with mum (which she then subtly fixes and perfects once the kids are in bed!), popping pj’s on and going for a ‘Christmas house’ drive, baking cookies and visiting Santa at the local shopping center are just some of the memories we have as kids which we now carry on with our own children. There was also nothing quite like getting a call from the ‘real’ Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, telling you to go to bed so that he could drop off his presents (I later found out this was actually our neighbour Steve with the deep husky voice!) but picking up the phone to have Santa on the other end was ever so exciting and made me feel ever so important!

So, with the kids currently being at a divine age and their love of Santa being at an all time high, we now carry on many of these lovely traditions, including the phone calls from Santa, which luckily for them, have upgraded slightly now from when dear old Steve used to call on the home phone! Now Santa can actually video call with a personalised message thanks to Portable North Pole (PNP).

Firstly, PNP is super easy to use which is good for tech illiterate mama’s such as ourselves (hey, we can write blogs and post on insta but when it comes to other techy computer stuff we are absolute losers!) Secondly, PNP is FREE!

Simply download the app to your phone and you can instantly create personalised video messages from Santa for your kids! Complete with your child’s name, photos and the gift they’re hoping to receive! But… if you want to extend the magic and capture your child’s reaction or phone calls from Santa with the Reaction Recorder (mobile app only) or create personalised phone calls from Santa, then you need what we downloaded… the PNP MAGIC PASS for access to extra features.

Stella absolutely loved seeing her photo on the screen and hearing Santa say her name! She’s always asking to watch her special Christmas video so I’ve now saved it to the “kids corner” of the app which allows her to watch her videos without having access to how they are created (that’s over in the parents corner!) See Stella’s video below.

Simply create an account, then choose which video you would like to make and enter personal details such as name, age and the gift your child is hoping for, and upload pictures. The end result is seriously awesome with Santa Claus himself chatting about your child their friends and family members directly from his home in the North Pole. There’s also a kids corner on the app with games such as shaking ornaments off a tree, and Santa selfies!

Another great feature of Portable North Pole is that since 2012, PNP has donated over $300,000 to more than 40 children’s hospitals around the world including Mater Little Miracles, Brisbane, The Childen’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney and The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Melbourne, keeping the gift of giving at Christmas time alive and well.

Penny eyes lit up when she saw her video from Santa and the gifts Santa had chosen for her (conveniently the same gift that is on her Christmas wish list!) Check out Penny’s Reaction Recorder video below!

A super fun family Christmas tradition, we guarantee PNP will impress the stripey red and green Christmas socks off your kids and sprinkle even the biggest Christmas bah hum bug with some smiley festive cheer.

Ho Ho Ho!
