There’s nothing wrong with the Easter Bunny hiding some eggs in the backyard, or a Smartie filled Humpty Dumpty on the end of the kid’s beds, or perhaps a Cadbury Creme Egg on Mama’s bedside table (hint hint Easter Bunny!!), however, giving little presents to the kids other than chocolate, is becoming an Aussie tradition.
And let’s face it the less chocolate they get, the less we steal from them at night when they go bed!
We’ve put together a list of our favourite non-chocolate Easter gifts for you, if you’re still on the hunt for something special to surprise the kids with this Easter Sunday (don’t worry you’ve still got a few days, including Saturday, to shop!).
There are so many gorgeous winter PJ’s coming out in for boys and girls, it’s the perfect time to buy a new snuggly warm set. Hazel wears a cute rabbit onesie from Kmart, $15.
Sleep Suits for the Bubs
Perfect to keep wiggly bubs snug in the cooler months, a sleep suit, such as the ergoPouch Sleep Suit Bag (2.5 tog) is a safe way to keep baby warm without the need for extra blankets. We just love how this suit also converts from a sleeping bag to a suit with legs simply by using the zippers, this makes the transition from car seat to cot super easy. Jacob wears the ergoPouch Sleep Suit Bag – Midnight Arrows, $84.95.
Who doesn’t love popping on a super fluffy dressing gown in the colder months? Whether you’re big or small, there’s always an excuse to cuddle someone in a dressing gown! Annabelle’s navy polka dotted dressing gown (complete with rabbit ears!) is from Target, $18. Penny’s pink one is from Kmart, $13.
Warm feet equals happy feet in our households, so new slippers are a great idea for an Easter gift. The girls are both wearing plush novelty slippers from Kmart, $12 each.
Whether it’s a colouring book or a picture book, books are something we’re always happy to gift and receive. We found Big W has a wide range of Easter kids books this year and most of them are around $4 or $5.
Choosing something crafty as a present for the kids is a win win; they love the pressie and you get some peace and quiet while they sit quietly (Bahaha!) painting, glueing, cutting and creating. Kmart is always choc filled with plenty of Easter themed craft such as this Plaster Set, $5.
Awwwwww Easter animals are just the cutest! From little bunnies and unicorns to chickens and eggs, you can’t go wrong giving your little one a toy to snuggle up to this Easter. We love these adorable musical (animated) bunnies from Kmart, $15.
And so that’s a wrap! Whether it be chocolate or some little bunny surprises, we wish everyone a very Hoppy Easter! Mwah!
Love Helen and Lisa xo.
